Single Mom’s Dating Lie#4: There’s not enough time and money to date

"I have one income now and I'm completely exhausted doing everything solo"

It all comes down to priorities. Taking time out for yourself should be at the top of your list. If you’re taking that “me” time when your kids are with their dad to watch TV then you could use that 45 minutes to meet up with that nice guy who asked you out for a coffee the other day. You would only have to pay the price of a coffee and he’ll probably end up paying for it anyway.

Make the time, find the energy!

Change Your Story: Mediation and Gratitude
Calm the mind and count your blessings

Whenever you feel that you have too little of something such as time and money it’s time to start counting your blessings and make yourself rich with gratitude.

Every day get out that trusty journal of yours and write 10 things that you are thankful for, for 21 consecutive days or more. It is scientifically proven that it takes around 21 days to form a habit. I can guarantee that it will change your life to some degree and you will feel the benefit in every area of your life.

Challenge: Change it up, don’t write down the same thing that you’re thankful for more than once.

“You should meditate for twenty minutes every day — unless you’re too busy. Then you should sit for an hour.” - Zen proverb

From my experience another way to lead you into gratitude is to calm the mind and be in the present moment: meditation! Even the word itself sounds scary and intimidating to a ot people, but all you only need to calm your mind in any way that’s right for you. Sometimes walking among nature does the trick. Guided meditations are extremely helpful, I personally love Dr. Joe Dispenza’s Meditation for Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself. Even just taking five minutes to listen to your breathing can do wonders. Whenever your mind wanders off, bring it back to the breathing; this is a skill like any other that will get better with practice.

Balance: Be grateful for what you have but always strive for more.
